Some of my favs are checkered patterns, arizona green tea, nike check marks, video game under water levels, windows xp/95 stuff and more!
I really liked the abandoned mall / liminal spaces thing. My favorite vaporwave aesthetics are the ones that have an edge of discomfort.
This post has a good intro to what's appealing about the aesthetic

i myself like the use of imagery like this, with the wild low-poly 3d renders of abstract shapes and dolphins, which as div mentioned liminal spaces- something about the motif i am referencing always felt somehow like... mcdonalds liminal? sunny liminal? i cant describe it right but it was always a peppy-cheery somehow less frightening or off putting type of liminal, like normal liminal space with cool sunglasses on.
see video below for first and foremost a delectably lowkey and almost ambient yet totally jammable set of music by someone i quite appreciate, and in the background he is employing the use of the exact aesthetic i am talking about.

btw, the youtube embed code is confused by the url parameters. I could fix it one day but until then, just edit them out if you want the embed to work :P
