I'm gonna post videos as Discord links since I can't upload videos here.
So far the philosophy here is... I want to avoid the thing that tabletop influenced RPGs do where they overwhelm you with a million decisions, because I looked at some CYOA apps that do this and while it looks impressive at first, actually figuring out how to get started is impossible except for someone extremely dedicated to figuring it out. The more options there are to look at on the same screen, the more confusing it is.
If you played an RPG before you might assume the next screen will be picking a bunch of skills. I'm not going to do that. I'm not saying there will never be skills, but until the game develops more, there is no reason to guess which ones I will actually incorporate into the game the most. It's simpler to just calculate everything as either physical, mental, or social task.
So what is the next screen going to be. 4 NPCs are going to be generated based on your aura selection and your ability score selection. They will have their own auras, a job title, and a (fake) email where they are reaching out to you. The player will select one of the four to be their contact. I dont want to go overboard explaining it. But that will be my next screen
Those little cards are how NPCs are going to be shown. It will eventually have more info about them, like a name and a description and actions you can take to interact with them. But so far I just needed to render the character's color.
I'm gonna eventually release what I have so far, since it will save everything in the local storage and let you resume from there when the next update comes, but... I still want to have enough to be worth releasing too.
That's all for now.
